Fall Picking/Sharing Schedule for Staff

As a reminder, we agreed that we would pick with a few Garden Club Students on Monday (or if no school, Tuesday) and Thursday of the week we are assigned. Then after school on these days, we (assigned staff) are responsible for sitting at the picnic table and sharing produce with parents who are interested. Please try to utilize assistants or grade level team members to help your students get to the bus/rides so that you can be outside ASAP at the end of the day! You can plan to stick around until about 3:15ish, and then any unclaimed produce can be taken to the lounge. I'll make a sign to communicate to staff that they are welcome to take what is on the table.

Here is some more information about what we'll be doing on Wednesday Mornings!! This email was sent to parents of all Garden Club Members!!

Dear Parents of Jane Stenson Garden Club Members,

Garden Club Members are invited to come to summer Garden Club Meetings at Jane Stenson School Wednesday mornings from 9 am until 10 am. We will meet every Wednesday morning starting June 15th and ending August 17th to weed, water, and harvest in the garden! Two teachers from Jane Stenson will be present each Wednesday morning to supervise and help with garden chores.

Drop off/pick-up details:
--Students will meet outside of the main entrance of Jane Stenson School at 9 am.
--If your child has permission to attend, but an adult will not be dropping off/picking up your child, please respond to this email stating that your child has permission to walk/ride their bike.
--Students will gather outside of the main entrance of Jane Stenson School at 10 am for pick-up.

Produce details:
As the summer moves along, we anticipate having produce available to share with families and community members. For families interested in produce, we ask that an adult pick up the produce when they pick up their child from the Wednesday morning Garden Club Meeting. We want to be sure that the produce being sent home will be used! Parents of Garden Club members are also welcome to take available produce to share with neighbors, elderly friends or family, and/or anyone in need.

Other Important Details:**
--Please send students in garden-ready clothes, remember it can be dirty!
--Parents are welcome to stay if they would like!
--If it is raining outside, Summer Garden Club will be canceled!

We look forward to working together with Garden Club Members this summer to care for our Global Garden!

Sincerely,
The Garden Crew
(Mrs. O'Neil, Ms. Stevens, Ms. Sharma, Mrs. Owens)
